瑞吉艾米STEAM周:世界上最小的科学家们都在这里了!

瑞吉欧大师塔蒂亚娜·奥塞格拉在启发孩子的科学幻想、以及对艺术的探究、科学的探索方面起了很大的启发作用,上周她已经带领我们小朋友进行了一周的STEAM课程,让我们大家来看看本周Taty又为我们小朋友带来了怎样的科学课程呢?

MAGIC BALLOONS

During the first part of our lesson, we learned talked about balloons. We sang a song, played a game, reviewed colors and parts of the body. How?

活动第一部分:老师和孩子们一起谈论了气球、一起唱歌、玩游戏。在这个过程中,还复习了颜、身体部位等单词。

After learning a song about balloons, every student got a balloon. We played with them for a bit, and then, the teacher announced a game.

学习了一首关于气球的歌曲后,每位孩子都得到了一个气球。孩子们和老师一起快乐的玩了一会气球。接着老师给孩子宣布了一个新游戏:



On three different little baskets, the teacher placed eyes, noses and mouths. Then, she said, “When you hear the bell, go to the baskets and find what you need to make the face of your balloon”, and so they did!

老师把提前准备好的眼睛、鼻子和嘴巴材料分别装在三个不同的篮子里。然后告诉孩子“当你听到摇铃的声音,你就可以去蓝子那里,找到你需要的东西来做一个气球脸蛋。”听到老师的指示后孩子们纷纷行动起来了。




It was super fun! Once they had their funny balloons ready, they were playing and dancing with them.

真是太好玩了!当孩子们把气球变成了有趣可爱的小脸蛋时,他们就玩得更开心了。



For the second part, we had a little experiment that, even though, in one of the classes didn’t go as planned, we still learned a lot.

With some vinegar and other kitchen supplies, we had the Magic Balloons experiment, in which without any big effort, the bottles inflate the balloons.

活动的第二部分:老师和孩子们做了一个小实验,虽然在其中年龄小一点的班级,这个实验并没有达到预期的目标,但是孩子还是从中学到了许多知识。

只需要一些食用白醋和厨房可找到的道具,就可以带给孩子一个有趣的“魔术气球”小实验了。在这个试验中,不需要花费很大努力,我们就能让瓶子给气球充气了。



 
 


In the Forest class, we had an unexpected turn. By applying pressure on the balloons, we created a little, yet fun, explosion. The best part happened when several students yelled, “volcano!”, which means they still remember our activity from last week! We are learning so much!

在森林班,我们经历了意想不到的瞬间。在对气球施加压力的时候,我们制造了一个小而有趣的爆炸。最精彩的是几个孩子突然大声的喊:火山爆发了。他们竟然还能联想到上周我们一起做的火山爆发活动。可以看出,孩子们从活动中学到了许多知识。

What? Fishing for ice?

Yes, we were fishing for ice!

How did we do it?

什么?钓冰?

是的,我们要钓的就是“冰”。

我们是怎么做的?

We filled up with water several containers, big enough to allow every child to participate. Then, with some color, we added ice cubes. We gave each student a piece of yarn, and we placed on the tables, small containers with salt.

The task, to get as many ice cubes as possible. Was it easy? Not at all!

我们用几个容器装满水,并确保每个孩子都可以参与活动。然后,在水里滴入食用素,把冰块放到水里面。老师给每位孩子一根小纱线或毛线、接着把盛着盐的小容器放到桌子上。

孩子的任务是:尽可能多地钓到冰块。这是一件容易的事情吗?一点也不容易。


The instructions were pretty simple; however, it was quite challenging.

Steps:

1. To place the yarn on an ice cube,

2. To sprinkle some salt on the ice cube’s surface,

3. To wait a bit,

4. To gently pull the yarn to try to get the ice cube out of the water.

指令非常简单,然而,这是具有挑战性的。

步骤:

1.把纱线放到冰块上。

2.在冰块表面上撒下一些盐。

3.撒完盐后稍等一会。

4.轻轻地拉线,试着把冰块从水里拉出来。

It was super fun to see the children fighting against nature. First, the ice cubes were melting fast; second, in order to get the ice cubes, lots of patience was needed.

看到孩子们认真的与大自然作“斗争”的样子真的非常有趣。首先,冰块融化得很快。然后、想要得到冰块,还需要很大的耐心。

Building cards is an extremely entertaining STEM activity that not only helps children to work with engineering, but also allows them to enrich their vocabulary and build neuronal connections that will last.

用卡片来搭建东西也是一项非常有趣的STEM活动,它不仅能帮忙孩子学习工程知识,还能让孩子在活动中习得丰富的英语词汇,并能增强大脑对这些词汇的记忆。



How did we do it?

我们是怎么做的?


Before the game, we reviewed all the words. We had a class were we remembered and practice the vocabulary we have been learning for the past two weeks.

在游戏前,我们一起复习了所学的所有单词。我们上了一节课,给孩子复习了这两个星期所学的英语单词。



For the game, the teacher prepared a set of vocabulary cards for each student. The cards were cut in a way that they could be ensembled together as pieces of Lego.

The teacher started calling cards. For example, “frog!”, so students would have to find the frog. Then, “scissors!”, and the students would have to put together “frog” and “scissors”. After, “balloon!”, “glue!”, and so on, until someone would finally build a tower with the cards.

为了完成这个游戏,老师需要为每个孩子准备一系列的单词卡片。并把这些卡片剪成乐高积木一样的形状。

游戏开始:老师说卡片的单词、孩子找出所说的卡片。如老师说:“青蛙”, 孩子们就要找到“青蛙”的卡片。当老师说“剪刀”时,孩子们就要找出“剪刀”的卡片,并把卡片“青蛙”和卡片“剪刀”搭建在一起。接着说,“气球”、“胶水”等等单词。直到有人最终用这些卡片建了一座塔。
